Social issues in Chile
The topic I know best, It´s a health.Because my mom have Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, and It's really frustrating the Health system from Chile, It's incredible to think that something as important as people health is not guaranteed. If the health is a right of people, the state must guarantee it. Quoting OMS: " the right of health include of TIMELY access, acceptable and REASONABLE to QUALITIE ENOUGH health service" . I emphasize these word because in Chile these word are half-heartedly obeyed.
TIMELY access: please, leave me laugh....There are people are dying for wait an hour of hospital for an operation or for see a specialized doctor. A person having a suspicion of cancer, can't wait six months or one year for see an oncologist.
QUALITIE ENOUGH: it is very ambiguous and subjective.
REASONABLE: This point is the most complex, because it is mixture other social issues, like the poverty and gender discrimination. The true, I don't understand how it function the "health insurance" (FONASA o ISAPRE), but in Chile, basically people with best salary have better "Health insurance" and If you are a woman you will pay more.
In FONASA A: you classify as"indigent", you won't pay for principal heath attention (nobody pay, It is "free" and is paying with 7% of heath of everyone worker) or hospital attention. Sound good, but it is a trap; the long waiting list and your low income, not permit you search extra heath attention because you can't pay. In conclusion you are damned.
If you are a woman pay more..That's right, ladies and gentlemans, you listen good. We are discriminated against because our gender. I don´t understand it and I will never understand. We are laboral discriminated against because we will need time of repose when we pregnant. It is stupid, the justification of companies is that are "business", but they have short vision. If all women in the world put to agree about haven't child in the life. How will the business continue when there are nobody in the world ?

ResponderBorrarI agree perfectly, a few years ago I had an orthodontic procedure that I had to wait for 7 years and then I lost that piece ... terrible
